Description: Senior students who have excelled in any of the following categories may compete at the local school level: English & Literature, Foreign Language, Visual Arts, Social Science, Science, Mathematics, Business and Marketing Education, Family, Consumer and Health Sciences Technology Education, Music, Speech and Drama, Dance, General Scholarship.
How to participate: Prepare a portfolio of accomplishments in one or more of the above categories. School winners are selected by interview and portfolio by school committee based on Leadership – 25, Citizenship – 25, and Scholarship – 50; 100 points possible. School winners then compete in the Central Utah Sterling Scholar Awards program with nine other schools where a winner and two runners-up in each category are selected & awarded scholarships.
Membership deadline: End of Junior year. Listen for announcements or talk with department head.
